how do I determine if an image has been digitally tampered with? the image i need to to pull the metadata from was forwarded to my attorney and then forwarded to me so at this point im sure the file has been compressed multiple times and the copy i have isn't ideal. I used exiftool on windows and got a bit of info from the image. LibreOffice Draw identifies multiple 'shapes' in the single image. When using the 'Navigator' tool, if i select "shape 1" and grab the middle of the image w the cursor and drag it, part of the image moves independently from the rest of the page. I think using something like 'scalpel' on a Kali linux system might be the right way to go about pulling more info off the file but I'm a bit confused on the format im supposed to use in the command line. The file is in pdf format.
